Administrators of Team Sarah have uncovered evidence on a left-wing online thread that some Internet trolls sought to discredit the organization by posing as conservative racists on Team Sarah's forums.....
Apparently, about 90 left-wing participants on a thread at somethingawful.com pretended to be conservatives who loved Sarah Palin before writing racist or otherwise deranged rants against Barack Obama on the Team Sarah forums.
Turns out the Huffington Post fell for the ruse, as Geoffrey Dunn posted an article "More Racism from 'Team Sarah'."
There is something very ugly happening out there in the hinterlands these days--a brewing cauldron of racist anger being directed at President-elect Barack Obama as he and his family get ready to move into the White House. It's a mean-spirited bigotry that is finding its way onto the internet and right-wing blogs across the country. It makes for a troubling portrait of a significant cross-section of the American polity as Obama prepares to take the oath of office as the 44th President of these United States.
And Dunn had the naivety to post this fake rant from Team Sarah.
On one blog Heather describes Election Day as the "most terrible" in history and asks "how long until obama is shot??????" Josie responds: "There are plenty of people that would like to see Obama end that way."
That Dunn fell so easily for frauds from his own party illustrates the worst assumptions the Left carries about conservatives for Palin. He would have done well to demonstrate a bit more incredulity and sniffing around before posting user comments (user comments!!) from another site to prove a point.
